Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthen trade relations with other countries.
Ambode
noted this when he received envoys from the United States of America,
Britain and Australia in his office at Alausa, Ikeja.
The
Governor stated that it is paramount on his administration to strengthen
the existing trade relations with other countries that are willing to
do business in the state.
Governor Ambode noted that an Office of
the Overseas Affairs and Investment had been established, adding that
its primary assignment was to relate with foreign investors among
others.
Noting that the government was poised to strengthen
economic ties with their countries, he urged the Envoys to feel free to
offer useful suggestions that would make investors willing to set up
their investment in the state.
Assuring a safe, conducive and
investor-friendly environment, Ambode however listed energy, power and
energy as well as oil and gas sectors as possible strong areas where
such bi-lateral relations could be strengthened.
Earlier, the
Acting Consular General, United States of America, Rehab Ghebreab,
expressed the willingness of her country to partner and provide
assistance to the State Government saying Lagos remains economic hub and
capital of Nigeria as well as West Africa.
Deputy British High
Commissioner, Ray Kyles and its counterpart the Australian High
Commissioner, Ambassador Jonathan Richardson, re-assured of sustaining
the partnership of the countries towards making robust achievement at
transforming the lives of residents of the state.
