The Lagos State Governor, Akinwumi Ambode has sworn-in Professor Olanrewaju Fagbohun as the new Vice Chancellor of the Lagos State University, LASU, Ojo.

Hails from Akesan, in Alimosho Local Government Area of the State, Fagbohun, a Professor of Environmental Law, is the eighth Vice Chancellor of the Institution.

In his speech, Governor Ambode urged the new Vice Chancellor to rekindle hope and rebuild confidence in the system, as well as nurture students to be wealth creators and contributors.

Ambode reiterated his government's commitment to intellectual engagement and excellence in all Tertiary Institutions in the State.

The new Vice Chancellor on his part described the event as the beginning of a new dawn and pledged to restore peace to the Institution, foster high level Schorlarship and create new Knowledge.

Fagbohun also promised to create an environment that would attract funds to meet implementation of programmes and activities, while craving for more partnership between the School and Lagos State Government.
